Update on the IndoCet stranding paper
Our efforts to convert the IWC report on strandings in the Western Indian Ocean, that we put together for last years’ meeting of the Scientific Committee, continue. So far we have received data from over 1500 strandings (approx. 1563), which will allow us to map strandings from the past 20 years in the Western Indian Ocean region. These data points were contributed by the respective stranding networks of nine countries and islands, including South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Keyna, Seychelles, Reunion, Mauritius, Mayotte and the south of Madagascar. We are still in need of some additional data from South Africa (Western Cape), Mozambique and Comores to complete the picture.
