First photo-identification catalogue for killer whales in the tropical SWIO
Killer whales are rarely observed in the tropical Southwest Indian Ocean. Nonetheless, their presence is reported year-around across the region. As part of a regional effort to increase knowledge on this species, Dr Maeva Terrapon has compiled all existing photographs taken from IndoCet members and citizen scientists into the first photo-identification catalogue for killer whales in this tropical region.
